Is the United Center a good place to see a concert? ›

The sight lines and acoustics are good everywhere, and even if behind the stage, video screens are usually set up for the concerts to have a frontal view of the performers.

With a capacity of nearly 21,000, the United Center is the largest arena by capacity in the NBA, and second largest arena by capacity in the NHL. It also has a seating capacity of 23,500 for concerts.

The United Center bag policy is quite clear and allows small purses and clutches smaller than 10"x6"x2". Backpacks are strictly prohibited, but there are exceptions for diaper bags and baby carriers. All luggage and briefcases are prohibited as well.

Best Seats For a Concert at United Center

On the Floor: Sections Floor 1, Floor 2, Floor 3 and Floor 4 are Floor Seats, which offer some of the closest views of the performers. For many concerts, floor sections are added or removed.

United Center is an indoor sports arena located in the Near West Side neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois.

Are certain items not allowed at the United Center? Backpacks, umbrellas, cameras with detachable lenses, selfie sticks, laptops, outside food or beverage of any kind and additional items are not permitted for entry into the United Center.

You should arrive at least ten minutes early to make sure you have time to buy your tickets and get settled. Ushers may not let you in after the performance has begun until there is a natural break in the music.

Parking Policies

No overnight parking unless related to event activities and approved in advance. No solicitation allowed. No consumption of alcoholic beverages on lot or in parked vehicles. No tailgating or similar activities.

Perfect for a concert! I went to the United Center to see a k-pop band called Enhypen and they were the best venue I have ever went to! Before the concert, I heard a lot of horror stories of Enhypen's other stops of disorganized staff, but the United Center handled it perfectly.

The immediate area around the stadium is fine and there are lots of cops around when there is a game. I wouldn't go for a 1/2 mile sightseeing hike though. Although many of the nearby areas have been gentrified, there are some rough neighborhoods nearby, especially to the west away from downtown.
