HAMMOND, La. – Southeastern Louisiana University tied a school record with six representatives on the 2023 All-Louisiana Collegiate Softball Team, which was released Tuesday by the LSWA.

Junior catcher Bailey Krolczyk was the lone Lady Lion named to the first team. SLU senior pitcher KK Ladner, junior first baseman Lexi Johnson, freshman third baseman Maria Detillier and junior designated player Audrey Greely were selected to the second team. Junior pitcher Cera Blanchard rounded out the Southeastern honorees as a honorable mention choice.

Tuesday’s announcement marked the second straight season that Southeastern placed six student-athletes on the All-Louisiana team. The selections of Ladner and Blanchard gave the Lady Lions multiple pitchers on the All-Louisiana squad for the first time in program history.

Krolczyk added to her increasing list of postseason accolades, as she was named the Southland Player and Hitter of the Year last month, as well as first team All-SLC and NFCA All-South Region. The Corpus Christi, Texas native set new single-season school records for extra-base hits (29), total bases (117) and longest hitting streak (22 games).

Krolczyk also led the Southland Conference with 10 home runs, 18 doubles, 50 RBI, 67 hits, a .661 slugging percentage and a 1.057 OPS. She also ranked second in the SLC with a .379 batting average and 39 runs. Krolczyk was one of two players, along with Louisiana Pitcher of the Year Sam Landry of UL Lafayette, to receive every available first-team vote on the All-Louisiana squad.

Greely was named to the All-Louisiana team for the third straight season, after earning first team All-Southland honors for the second straight season. A member of the SLC All-Tournament team. The Geismar, Louisiana native led the Southland with a .448 on-base percentage, while also ranking in the conference top 10 with a .336 batting average (8th), a .538 slugging percentage (6th), a .986 on-base percentage (2nd), 35 runs (7th), 31 RBI (10th), six home runs (5th), 20 walks (9th) and nine HBP (2nd).

Johnson added All-Louisiana recognition to a breakout 2023 campaign that saw her earn first team All-SLC, Southland All-Academic and conference All-Tournament honors. The Reserve, Louisiana native shared the league lead with five triples, while ranking among the Southland leaders with a .337 batting average (7th), a .588 slugging percentage (2nd), a .969 OPS (3rd), 38 runs (3rd), 63 hits (2nd) and 45 RBI (2nd).

Detillier was the lone SLU freshman on the All-Louisiana team, as the Gramercy, Louisiana native stepped in as the team’s starting third baseman. In her debut season in Hammond, she led the Southland with 46 runs scored and 12 sacrifice bunts. Detillier ranked among the league leaders with a .333 batting average (10th), a .409 on-base percentage (10th), a .921 OPS (9th), 56 hits (8th), 31 RBI (10th), 11 doubles (8th), five home runs (9th), 23 walks (5th), five sacrifice flies (3rd) and 17 stolen bases (10th).

Ladner was named All-Louisiana after finishing with a 15-2 record and a 1.92 earned run average as the ace of the Southeastern pitching staff. The Kiln, Mississippi native won 14 straight decisions during the season on the way to being named All-Southland and the SLC All-Tournament team. Ladner held opponents to a league-low .199 batting average, while ranking among the Southland leaders in ERA (3rd), innings pitched (127.2, 9th), strikeouts (147, 2nd) and wins (5th).

Blanchard transferred in from Copiah-Lincoln Community College and partnered with Ladner to give SLU an impressive 1-2 punch at the top of the pitching staff. The Metairie, Louisiana native finished 17-7 with a 2.45 ERA and a pair of saves in her debut season in the green and gold, ranking among the SLC leaders in ERA (6th), opposing batting average (.212, 3rd), strikeouts (102, 5th), wins (3rd) and saves (5th).

In all, seven players with Southeastern ties received All-Louisiana recognition, as 2024 Lady Lion pitcher Chloe Bennett, who spent her 2023 season at LSU Eunice, was named to the second team.

UL Lafayette took home four individual honors, as Karly Heath (Player of the Year), Sam Landry (Pitcher of the Year), Mihyia Davis (Freshman of the Year) and Gerry Glasco (Coach of the Year) were recognized.

Mariana Torres of McNeese was selected Newcomer of the Year. Southeastern’s Krolczyk (Hitter of the Year), Ladner (Pitcher of the Year), Blanchard (Newcomer of the Year) and Rick Fremin (Coach of the Year) all finished second in voting for various individual honors.

The All-Louisiana teams were selected by the state’s sports information directors and select media members.
