Flight deck crew
NetJets continues to recruit highly professional, motivated and customer service driven flight crew who seek interesting and challenging opportunities.
First Officers: minimum requirements
- 1500 hours total flight time (excluding simulator hours)
- JAA ATPL (CPL with the theoretical ATPL successfully completed will also be considered)
- Multi-engine rating
- Multi-Crew Cooperation certificate or proof of exemption
- A valid EEC passport
- Jet and/or turbo-prop experience (excluding simulator time), and
- Fluency in English
NetJets does not hire direct-entry captains as we believe pilots need to gain experience in our type of operation. Experience has taught us that this objective is successfully achieved with some time as a First Officer. However, pilots that meet requirements can expect an upgrade as quickly as within 6 months.
Minimum requirements for a captain upgrade:
- 3000 hours total time
- Demonstration of excellent performance as a First Officer at NetJets;
- Pass an upgrade course (Ground school and SIM), and
- Completed line training as a captain (including the line check).
Preferred profile and skills
- Extensive European flight experience
- Command time advantageous
- Strong JAR OPS commercial aviation background
- Military or airline training
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Multi-crew experience (500 hours)
- Flexible attitude, and
- Knowledge of two or more European languages

I hear the OAT sponsored scheme is pretty competitive from what I read on another forum, also according to www.pilotjobsnetwork.com, netjets wants people to have a UK JAA license and there's a note there that says "no spanish licenses," I'm not sure why.

While attending Oxford I met a few people going through initial interview for the NETJETS program. Someone would go home basically everyday if you didn't pass each phase of the interview.
This is the process,
1. Application Screening
2. Aptitude Testing
3. Interview with NetJets
Oxford has 3 stages.
Stage 1
Essay, from what Oxford says it's like a job application.
Stage 2
Day 1 of Stage 2 will include computer based testing of your maths and physics knowledge. ATPL Ground School requires GCSE standard knowledge in these topics to Grade C or better, which are tests taken at about age 16 by British students. The assessment tests generally do not exceed GCSE standard. The BBC Bite Size website has useful GCSE revision material for maths and physics. Join the @sk Oxford Forum and use the search engine or browse previous posts to learn more about the assessment process. Applicants to this scheme will complete all assessments used for self-sponsored APPFO applicants except for the flight simulator assessment.
Day 2 of Stage 2 will include an interview. Those who are intimately familiar with the structure of the APP First Officer course and with all aspects of NetJets are likely to perform best at the interview. There is much information about both freely available online as well as thousands of web sites with helpful tips to prepare one for a job interview.

I was married to a Swiss one for 11 great years. If I could find a good job in Switzerland, Austria or Germany (or a bunch of other European countries too), I'd probably go. I like the lifestyle there better than the US. At least I have a job, and 18 days off next month, so that's hardly a disaster!
