Anyone hunting in Georgia born on or after January 1st, 1961.

Great program. Loved the style of the instruction - straight to the point with a couple expert/bonus tips. The audio made it easy to learn while doing a menial task. I did, however, find the course to be glitchy at times. Some of the audio files show "ERROR", there were a few slides that had way more time than the content needed, and one of the videos had the wrong privacy setting. All in all a great program and value.

I really liked the narrations and being able to read along. It was easy to read and listen to. The only thing I found that was wrong was on the 1st or 2nd quiz, there was a question that had totally wrong answer choices and you had to pick an answer to keep going. The answer choices had nothing to do with the question asked. So someone might want to review Quiz 1 and 2, sorry I can’t remember which it was. Paige Moore

Do I need to take a youth hunter safety course to hunt in Georgia?
A Georgia Hunter Education Certificate is required for anyone born on or after January 1, 1961 planning to hunt in the state of Georgia.
Is there a minimum score I need to pass?
You must obtain a minimum score of 76% on the final Hunter Education Test to obtain your Georgia Hunter Education Certificate.
What is the minimum age to get certified in Georgia?
There is no minimum age to obtain your Hunter Education Certificate in Georgia.
What is the fee to become a certified hunter in Georgia?
The HUNTINGsmart! Youth Hunter Safety Course is FREE for hunters under the age of 16. This includes the online course, exam, and your certification.
For anyone over the age of 15, the standard cost for a single hunter is $28.95.
Is my hunter safety certification the same as having a hunting license for Georgia?
No. Your Hunter Education Certificate is different from an annual hunting license purchased from Georgia Department of Natural Resources. You will need to purchase an annual or short-term hunting license once you complete your hunter safety course. The license you will need will depend on if you are a resident of Georgia, your targeted species, your age, and how long you wish the license to be active.

How long will the online hunter safety course take to complete?
It takes a minimum of 8-hours to complete the course. This includes all lessons, module quizzes and final exam.
