Madison Stalker on The ‘Below Deck Sailing Yacht’ Moment She Found “Flabbergasting” (2024)

One thing you should know about Madison Stalker is that she, like many of us, is currently “living in sweatpants,” during this quarantine, so she’s significantly more comfortable than she was during the latest episode of Below Deck Sailing Yacht. Between a surprise meeting with chief stew Jenna and Captain Glenn, to a friendzone chit chat with Parker, it’s safe to say things weren’t really coming up Madison.

So we jumped on the phone with the second stew to hear her side of things: from the lack of sleep to the lack of bras, Madison walked us through her point of view when it comes to all the latest drama aboard Parsifal III.

Decider: Where you are right now, what are you doing?

Madison Stalker: Did you know that I was in Thailand? I literally got stuck in Thailand, two weeks ago. I was there for my friend’s 35th birthday and then they canceled our flight coming back, so I legitimately was stuck on an island in Thailand. We finally got back to Bangkok and went to the airport like, I need to be on a flight. They were starting to cancel all the flights and my friend was reading the news and he was like, they’re gonna shut down Thailand. So we had to go to the hospital to get a clean bill of health to fly and then I got on the second to last flight out. I was supposed to go back to Chicago, so had to fly through Tokyo, landed in Chicago, was like, oh my god it’s so bad here, F that, so I went to Nashville for four or five days and quarantined myself in a hotel room. I watched so many Netflix shows, I exhausted myself. And then I came out to see Parker, so now I’m out in Colorado at the ranch.

Wow, what a journey! Are you keeping up with other yachting friends?

I have friends all over the world so it’s checking in constantly with everyone. That’s a job of itself. I’m like okay, it’s Spain time now, let’s check in with everyone in Palma. I lived in Palma for a year so that’s a pseudo home to me, I have mini homes everywhere. I kinda wish I would’ve gotten stuck in Palma. “Oh no, I can’t leave Spain now, I’ll sit on my roof, drinking cheap wine that’s 2 bucks!”

I would just be drunk the whole time.

Oh, you have no idea. We’re already kind of at that point now. But it’s okay, lots of emotions!

Let’s talk about this episode to get your side of what was going on. Why were you staying up late and were you even staying up late? Did you think you were getting enough sleep or was that part of your frustration too?

Oh my god, I’ve been so good and trying not to address this. Guests go to bed late, all of our guests were going to bed between 12 and 2am, and you still have work to do after that. We were doing parties and cleaning up all that. You still have to do night duties. So maybe I was staying up a couple times an extra 20 minutes. And I wasn’t sitting down eating dinner, I was never sitting down to eat lunch, and so for me to be able to sit down and eat, and talk with another human for maybe 20 minutes. And when you’re alone in dead silence for like two hours, I mean it could’ve been Ciara coming on at 4am.

Plus, I already wasn’t even taking my eight hours [of sleep] because the girls needed me in the morning. They were coming in and out of the room, they were waking me up to ask dumb questions that they could’ve figured out together. I was by myself at night and you guys have two people in the morning. They were pretty disrespectful of my sleep, and I wasn’t getting breaks either, just sporadically. The girls were taking their two-hour breaks, or an hour and a half, and I was rarely getting breaks at this point.

So that’s why that whole beach set up, when they told me to go hold, literally to hold the beach, I think we went there at 4 o’clock and dinner was gonna be at 8. I was like, I need to sit the f*ck down for 20 to 30 minutes and take a break. I was exhausted, especially after that boys’ charter. I knew they were going to use it [on the show], but at that moment I was like, I’m a person, I just need to sit down for 30 minutes and get off my feet. Plus that beach, I cannot reiterate this enough, it was so beyond painful. That was a whole element of it too.

Ciara and I, it took us probably an hour to find rocks to build that [fire pit]. I just like how me not wearing a bra [was used], I was like, are you f*cking kidding me? It’s not like my tit* are in your face, I’m wearing a polo.

I did want to ask you about that because it seemed so random and kind of funny. Where was your bra, was there a reason you didn’t put one on?

Honestly, it’s been so long now, I don’t remember. That’s why it’s so trivial. I don’t know, maybe I took a shower and then I had to go to the beach setup? I couldn’t even tell you if I tried.I’m pretty sure there were certain days I didn’t wear a bra and it wasn’t a big deal. You want me to go back to the boat to put on a bra and then come back here?

Let’s talk about the chat with Glenn and Jenna. You seemed to hold things in pretty well after being surprised by that meeting.

Thank you, that’s pretty much my underlying theme of the whole season. I try to calmly hold things in because karma is going to be a bitch so I don’t need to be.

What was that meeting like, did you feel like you were heard?

I definitely don’t feel like I was heard because there really is no talking with Jenna. The fact that she went behind my back and her whole thing is, if you have an issue come talk to me about it, and she never even talked to me about it. The fact that she threw around the word unprofessional is just, it was flabbergasting. Like, you’re making out in the galley, you’re making out in the crew mess, you’re literally hanging all over someone, during work. It was very uncomfortable and I just was like, it’s fine, it’s fine, it’s fine. It would’ve been petty for me to be like, this is so ridiculous.

And then for me to legitimately take two minutes to do something nice for someone and write Parker a note like, hey man we got this. Sometimes Parker and I need pep talks and need reassurances, we’re trying to give each other positive feedback: don’t stress, great day today, let’s get this done, just trying to be there for my friends. And I’m sorry, it’s not like I made a four-course breakfast. Me staying up late to make him breakfast? What? Dude, it’s a bowl of cereal and a banana. Maybe that takes you 30 minutes but it took me a whoppin’ two.

It was just very frustrating and honestly, there’s really no talking with Jenna because she’s very contradicting in a sense. One day it will be this and then the next day she wants us to do something completely different. It was constantly changing and I was frustrated and honestly, anything I said was just gonna shoot myself in the foot even more so that’s why I listened and went back to work.

She does go on to say that you’re capable and good at the job, you’re a good second stew when it comes to the work; does that help at all for you to know she said that?

[Silence, followed by a long sigh] No. Like, okay I pretty much know that because I’m doing everything for you guys and for everyone else. I was literally running around the deck department like, high fives dudes, you guys are killing it! And was always trying to be that positive light for everyone because there was just no positivity on the boat. If you just give your workers a little bit of positive feedback, happy wife happy life.

When Parker came to your room to nip the crush in the bud, did you understand why he came to have that talk and did it end any romantic feelings?

Oh yeah. I think my crush on Parker was kind of like, we’re all in this weird situation together and he was the only single one so I was like okay, you’re kinda cute, we’re similar. But after two charters, maybe three charters, I was like, he’s just my friend. At that point, we were already best buds so when he came to talk to me about it, it was already like, yeah. We’re good. I feel the same.

Is there anything else coming up you’re excited for us to see?

Well, I definitely kiss more than one person. Ooh! I know, Madison you drunk little ho! I think that’s a good one, right?

A great one! Well, I’ll let you get back to sweatpants, and I hope you’re not wearing a bra now as there’s no point really.
