Lian Li have released a new version of their L-Connect software, optimised to work with their UNI FAN SL and UNI FAN AL products. L-Connect 3 is more than just an update to coincide with new products, as it has a revised user interface and fresh monitoring functionality. We’re going to take you through everything you need to know about this new bit of software, how to update your UNI HUB controller, and how you can get everything up and running.
Deeper RGB Lighting Control
With L-Connect 3, you will have full control of the RGB lighting on your devices. With the complete spectrum of 16.7 million colours at your fingertips, you can adjust the static colour and brightness as you please. Not only that, but different effects can be assigned to individual RGB zones. This allows you to create some mind-blowing looks for your fan setup to suit your style. There are also many predefined lighting profiles for you to choose from as well for your convenience.
If you want to make your lighting control even simpler, L-Connect 3 has you covered. You can apply lighting effects to all your ARGB devices with just one click, or let the motherboard software sync all your devices for you. Perfect if you’re still learning about RGB lighting.
L-Connect 3 Offers Greater Fan Control
With previous L-Connect iterations, there was a lack of displayed information for users and limited fan control. Rather than a detailed curve, you could only select between “quiet”, “balanced”, or “performance” profiles. With L-Connect 3 you can now easily and effectively control the speed of your fans as well as your pumps by creating fan curves that give the optimal balance. There is also one clear menu from which you can now check the utilisation and temperatures of your installed components.
In addition, there is more control from under the settings menu. Here you can improve clarity by renaming the ports on your hubs to track what is being controlled and easily keep software and firmware up to date by checking the “Updates” tab.
You can get hints as to what controls are on offer by clicking the lightbulb icon in the top right-hand corner. This will toggle hints to help you better understand the interface and its utilities.
How Do I Update My Fan Controllers?
The L-Connect 3 is compatible with Lian Li UNI HUB in order to control UNI FAN AL and UNI FAN SL fans. Once you have L-Connect 3 up and running, you should be able to simply update your controller’s firmware from the settings menu for it to work with the new software.
If the firmware update fails, you can try a manual update instead. Lian Li have provided a guide on how you can do this.
Where Can I Download L-Connect 3?
If you are looking to make the upgrade, there is one thing you need to do before installation. If you have L-Connect or L-Connect 2 present on your gaming PC, be sure to remove them before downloading L-Connect 3. Lian Li have created a guide to help you do so if you are having any trouble.
