Who survived the Air France flight 007? ›

The only survivors of the disaster were two flight attendants; the other eight crew members, and all 122 passengers on board the Boeing 707, were killed. The crash was at the time the worst single-aircraft disaster and the deadliest crash involving a Boeing 707.

Accident. At 16:02 EDT (20:02 UTC) on the 2 August 2005, Air France Flight 358 overshot the end of the runway after landing on Runway 24 Left at Toronto Pearson International Airport, and came to rest in a small ravine just outside the airport perimeter.

The airline's 472-seat aircraft

According to ch-aviation, Air France has 12 777-300ERs in a three-class, 472-seat configuration. There are 14 seats in business class (1-2-1 layout), 28 in premium economy (2-4-2), and a massive 430 in economy (3-4-3).

In the final seconds of the flight, all three pilots gave up on trying to solve the problem and desperately tried to get the aircraft to climb, and their final words were: [02:14:19] Bonin: "Come on, pull up, pull up, pull up, pull up!" [02:14:23] Bonin: "F*ck, we're going to crash! This can't be happening!"

Indeed, even the co-pilots themselves, with their panels full of instruments and indicators, seemed uncertain as to what exactly was happening, several times discussing whether they were actually going up or down. Until the moment AF447 hit the water, none of the passengers could have known what was in store.
